Nini's Closeup, Houston TX
Nini's turn in the beautiful natural light at our Aunt and Uncle's house over the Labor Day holiday. I was watching Sue Bryce on CreativeLive last week and decided to try some of her posing techniques. Sue often crops at the forehead so I gave that a try as well, something I don't do very often because I can never decide exactly where to crop into the forehead at. Sue talks a lot about connecting the chin and shoulder to create a more sensual look. I'm not sure if we quite achieved sensual, but it's a start. Sue always uses natural light like this too.

on September 8, 2012This is lovely, while I agree with Laura, I really like the soft glow of the light on her face and the shadows around the edges of her face are dynamite.

I'd like to see a bit more definition in her features, I might have underexposed just a tad to get richer tones in the skin. Love her expression and the way her chin is tucked alluring and yet sweetly into her shoulder.

on September 7, 2012Very well done. I have had "pros" tell me that if you can't see the eyes, it isn't a good portrait....blaaaa. I have reduced my level on Smug to "Power User"...the price increase couldn't be justified by my level of use. At least I didn't just cut and run!!!
