Doesn't this look like some kind of tropical paradise? Well it's just Lake Sam Rayburn during at sunset. Nini and I took the dogs to our favorite beach on Saturday night and the waves were bigger than we've ever seen before. The wind was ripping. But there was no sunset to speak of. This is the view facing due South, as there was tiny sliver or pink and purple color on the horizon. I was a bit lost shooting South, as I hadn't scoped out much of composition in the past because I was always looking to the West.
This is a single 2 second exposure. I used a 3-stop soft step graduated neutral density filter to knock out some light above the horizon. This was Nini's favorite of the night so I went with her choice! We spent Sunday's sunset driving around looking for a new place to shoot, but we came up totally empty handed. It was not the first time we drove around for 2.5 hours looking for a new spot, only to find a bunch of private property. It has been very frustrating.
Critiques always welcome.

on October 16, 2012wow makes the lake look really big... how big is it? love the stones in the foreground and how the water/waves ended up. My only critique is the grass or weed shoot in the foreground, but realize that may have made the shot too tight??
