The Rings, Houston TX
My favorite wedding detail to shoot is the rings! Rachel and Ryan’s rings were fun to shoot because they stacked up so nicely on top of one another. Sarah Williams and I have really tried to step up our ring shots and at our last few weddings together we’ve been taking turns trying to outdo one another in a friendly ring shot competition.
This photo was taken during the reception. I placed the rings on a rose petal and then put the pearly edge of a photo frame in the background to create the bokeh. Including sparkly foreground and background objects to create nice out of focus bokeh is the main technique we’ve been trying to perfect, and I dare say we’ve done it.
I’m sorry I haven’t been able to keep up with my daily post lately. I was out of town trying to secure our lease in Montana last week and then this weekend I shot two weddings with Sarah. To top it off, we’ve been packing and nursing our injured pup Sala and dealing with Bellinger family drama to boot. We’re leaving Texas for good this weekend and moving into our house in Billings the following weekend, so I’m guessing I won’t be posting regularly until then. But I’ll try my best. I hope everyone has been well.
