Sparks in Flight, College Station TX
This is one of my favorites from Lindsey and Justin’s College Station wedding! Sparks were flying all day for these lovebirds, but the reception was electric! I had a great time at this wedding, I’m very thankful to Sarah Williams for letting me tag along.
For me, most of the photographic excitement is over by the time the reception starts. Sure, the first dances can sometimes yield fun shots, and the cake cutting too. But other than that I find the receptions a little boring for photography even though they are the most fun part of the wedding for socializing. Well Sarah and I have been making them a little more interesting by experimenting with all different kinds of lighting setups. For this photo I used the same technique I discussed here. The exposure is one second, which allowed enough time to tilt the camera left and right, creating the circular pattern on the wall of lights in the background, while my speedlight froze the couple in place. It’s a fun technique to play with!
