Starting to Snow, Bloomington IL
I drove my friend Rob back to Bloomington yesterday and it started to snow as we were leaving the gas station. I don't usually share shots like this so it's a bit out of my comfort zone. I was desperate to shoot since I have been so busy during the True/False film festival the last four days. If you like documentary films, I highly recommend "Undefeated," which won best documentary at the Oscars, "Bully," "The Ambassador," and for the nerds out there, "Comic Con Episode IV."
Sometimes I like to take out my 50mm f/1.4 lens out at night and shoot at f/1.4. I like the shallow depth of field and sometimes its fun to get things out of focus. For an extreme example see my impressionist scene here:
I heard that Sue Bryce shattered all of CreativeLIVE's records for workshop sales this weekend. WHAT DID YOU THINK? Did anyone get to watch? How did you like it? Any quick tips to share? I only caught bits and pieces, but my ears perked up when she said her most popular sale after a portrait session is a $3300.00 bundle. It's a tip I've heard over and over on creativeLIVE, value yourself, value your product, and price it accordingly. If you believe in what you're doing, your enthusiasm will be your biggest seller.
